This position would be part of our So Delicious Dairy Free food manufacturing facility.The scheduled for this position would be Sunday through Thursday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.The material handler is responsible for providing support to operations by maintaining a flow of packaging and ingredients to the production facility. The material handler must operate all powered industrial vehicles in a safe manner and maintain an organized and efficient work area in the staging warehouse, adjoining courtyard and additional material storage locations. The position is also expected to help the production team with breaks and load finished product onto trucks on an as needed basis.Objectives of the role1. Material Staging

  • Provide all production materials before and during a production run
  • Returning unused materials to the proper location following a production run
  • Maintain plant FIFO throughout facility and follow WH SOP's and standards
  • Ensure waste/recycling materials (pallets, buckets, barrels, cardboard) are organized and placed in the appropriate location.
  • Pre staging and consolidating materials on pallets to meet production and storage needs
  • Maintains, cleans, and organizing warehouses and workspaces to meet plant standards2. Break Relief
    • Supporting production team with breaks and lunches as needed3. Loading/unloading trucks
      • Loading pallets of finished goods onto trailers, as needed
      • Unloading materials/ingredients from trailers and hot/cold storage areas4. DaMaWay (Danone's Continuous Improvement Program)
        • Understands the importance of DaMaWay and utilizes available tools and systems to proactively maintain their workspace and equipment
        • Ensure adherence to plant standards (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, DaMaWay, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, CODES, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of DaMaWay system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.Education/Experience:
          • High School diploma or GED is required
          • Familiarity with a production or warehouse environment preferred
          • Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks and other PIVsSkills/Abilities: (technical/professional skills, expertise and qualifications)
            • Good verbal and written communication, presentation, organizing, prioritizing and implementation skills in a fast-paced environment.
            • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
            • Knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices
            • Forklift and pallet jack certified
            • Familiar with FIFO
            • Trained and qualified at Hand Packer position
            • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
            • Knowledge of quality holds, hold process and plant escalation procedure
            • Knowledge of plant item numbers and all material storage locations on the premises
            • Allergen awareness, segregation policy and labelling program, as well as handling of partial material returns
            • Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
            • Must have excellent multi-tasking, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.Essential Functions:
              • Wear personal protective equipment daily and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures; continuously reach, push/pull; frequently twist; occasionally stoop/bend; intermittently crouch, climb, and balance; use hands for repetitive fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, and simple grasp; and talk and hear under noisy conditions. Able to lift 50 lbs. Visual acuity and taste to discern product variation.
              • Operate a variety of powered industrial vehicles in an environment comprised of heavy pedestrian traffic, narrow aisles and hot/cold/wet conditions
              • Working conditions frequently includes a cool indoor food production environment and freezer environment, and outdoor environment with exposure to inclement weather. Clean environment, requiring hand washing every time you go on the floor 20+/- times a day.
              • Stage materials and plan for changeovers per the production schedule and bill of materials
              • Ensure the plant courtyard remains organized and all pallet stacks and waste materials are in the appropriate location.
              • Work with production team to ensure that all breaks are completed
