Purpose
The Benefits Specialist will be responsible for managing and
administering all benefits and retirement programs including health
and welfare plans, 401K, and wellness programs. Responsibilities
will include educating new team members on their benefit packages
as well as answering existing team member questions regarding
benefits and any benefit changes. This role will maintain the
day-to-day operations of all benefits and wellness offerings for
Roseburg's team members. They will contribute to the development
and implementation of department strategies and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for team members and vendors
regarding all benefit-related matters, such as assisting with
enrolling in health benefits and answering any questions about
offerings and enrollment programs
- Responsible for annual open enrollment process
- Oversee the company's wellness programs
- Analyze participation and effectiveness of our tools and
develop strategies to increase participation
- Educate and promote programs
- Provide regular reporting and goal setting for those promoting
the programs in various locations
- Responsible for hosting and coordinating on-site screening
events
- Assist in development of the programs
- Select, promote and oversee activity challenges
- Coordinate annual on-site vaccination clinics
- Coordinate annual on-site retirement one-on-one meetings
- Responsible for implementation and roll out of new programs and
benefits
- Responsible for new hire benefit orientations
- Develop, prepare, and lead benefit educational opportunities
for team members and internal stakeholders by creating education
materials (PowerPoints, presentations), online content, and process
documentation
- Work closely with the internal communications team to educate,
market and promote benefit programs
- Seek opportunities for continuous improvement, build
efficiencies and enhance the overall team member benefit
experience
- Provide information to insurance carriers and brokers for
annual renewals
- Conduct annual audits to ensure that the company's processes
are compliant
- Develop and maintain working relationship with internal and
external stakeholders, such as Payroll, Accounts Payable, HR Team,
vendors and third-party administrators
- Responsible for payments to employee benefit vendors
- Create and maintain purchase orders
- Process all employee 401k loan and deferral changes
- Process and maintain employee benefits enrollment updates in
all vendor portals
- Prepare deduction/contribution reports for each payroll
- Maintain filing & storage systems (i.e., office, vault, &
warehouse)
- Model Company core values

- 2+ years of relevant work experience; or any equivalent
combination of experience and training that demonstrates the
ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
- Maintain the highest ethical standards in dealing with
confidential information

- Associates degree or extensive knowledge of employee benefits,
retirement plans and compliance issues
- Excel skills and report generation
- Ability to learn quickly and apply learned knowledge
- Experience with Kronos Human Capital Management platform
