Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Department: Clinical
Reports to: Clinic Operations Manager
Supervises: no one
Employment: 32 hours/FTE; 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Mon - Fri, with flex day off
Overtime Status: non-exempt

Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) evaluates and treats patients collaboratively with Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Physicians, using effective listening and communicating skills. Performs all job duties within LPN scope of practice and in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Primary Responsibilities:
-- Responds to patient inquiries in a timely manner, may be expected to triage incoming calls under supervision of a RN or MD
-- Conduct Patient Education Classes
-- Provide Wound Care as requested by provider
-- Be in direct communication with providers regarding patient care
-- Conduct Nurse visits
-- Document all patient phone calls and nurse visits accurately in Electronic Medical Record
-- Arrange outside health services for patients as needed (home health, wound care clinics, etc)
-- Respond directly to Provider
-- Assist providers with minor procedures
-- Staple/Suture Removal as requested
-- Enter orders for diagnostic studies, medications as requested by provider
-- Assist providers in maintaining an efficient clinic flow
-- Maintain patient confidentiality
-- Other duties as assigned
Education/Certification/Licensing Requirements:
Current LPN Nursing License in State of Oregon, CPR Certification; bilingual English/Spanish a plus

One year of nursing experience preferred

Ability to effectively problem solve

A thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures
Knowledge and skills in techniques of good patient care applicable to the multi-specialty environment

Additional Abilities & Skills:
Ability to communicate with patient/referring offices by phone
Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.

Equipment Operated:
Standard office and medical equipment.

Work Environment:
Well-lighted medical office. Exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions related to clinic setting. Work may be stressful due to a busy office.

Mental/Physical Requirements:
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with office work involving sitting approximately 90% of the day with occasional standing, walking, reaching and lifting. Periodic stress occurs from handling many calls and dealing with patient requests.

Starting rate: $22.00 - $24.50 per hour
