Critical Care Program Medical Director opportunity in Oregon!
Great opportunity to join a 351-bed state-of-the-art regional
medical center and level II trauma center. Our tertiary care center
has a full array of subspecialties including Neurosurgery, Heart &
Vascular Institute, Robotic Surgery, and the only pediatric surgery
hospital outside of the Portland area. Aesthetically our facility
feels more like a ski lodge than a hospital.Program Medical
Director will work around 12 clinical shifts per month and have 3
days per month of protected administrative time. This is a high
acuity/complex ICU program, we are looking for a candidate to be
comfortable in this environment and possess previous ICU Director
experience (preferably at least 2 years).The Program Medical
Director ( Medical Director ) is the primary representative in the
Facility. The Medical Director maintains congenial, productive
relationships with multiple stakeholders including Facility
leadership, staff, and community physicians, and works with
physicians to leverage the resources of the Hospital to the benefit
of patients, the team, the medical community, and the Facility.The
Medical Director reports to the Regional Medical Officer, or their
designee, and is responsible for:--- Developing and implementing
evidence-based protocols, practice guidelines, and order sets that
form the core of Sound s Critical Care program.--- Defining and
managing work allocation and workflow processes of program clinical
and physician staff.--- Participating in ICU related quality and
data management.--- Serving in a partnership role in all areas of
program management including (but not limited to) marketing,
staffing, HR issues, budget, clinical performance, strategic
planning, services provided, and recruitment.
--- Orienting and training new physicians.--- Managing
relationships with key clinical and administrative stakeholders at
the hospital.--- Supporting all existing standardized processes,
tools, services.--- Championing change management and required
expectations during the implementation of a new Intensivist
program.--- Facilitating cooperation with other key inpatient
physician care providers such as hospitalists and emergency
physicians to promote physician involvement in program planning,
policy, and development.--- Overseeing ICU throughput.For more
